Support for Emergency Services Professionals
You may be used to managing, pushing through, and continuing to perform under pressure. But over time, something may start to feel different, whether that’s feeling more on edge, finding it harder to switch off or noticing the effects outside of work. This is often a sign that your nervous system has been under sustained load for longer than it’s had the chance to recover.
Resilience - Regulate - Resolve
The work we do is focused on supporting your nervous system in three key areas:
Resilience
Building your capacity to manage stress and pressure without becoming overwhelmed. This focuses on increasing the nervous system’s window of tolerance to stress, so you can handle demand more effectively both at work and in everyday life
Regulate
Supporting your nervous system after exposure to high-stress or traumatic situations. This involves helping your mind and body come out of heightened states and return to a more regulated baseline. This prevents prolonged stress from forming.
Resolve
Working through unresolved experiences that may still be affecting you. Using evidence-based approaches such as EMDR and Somatic Therapy, we work with experiences that haven’t been fully processed and integrated by the nervous system. In doing so, we reduce their ongoing impact and create a more settled and regulated response to situations that may previously have been triggering.
My work is grounded in a nervous system–led, trauma-informed approach. Using an understanding of neuroscience I support you to work with your body rather than against it, allowing change to happen in a way that is both effective and sustainable.
Dr Chet Trivedy’s story
Dr Chet Trivedy was working as an A&E consultant when he experienced a stroke while at work. He believes that sustained stress was a significant contributing factor. Since then, he has wanted to raise awareness of his experience to help other professionals recognise the impact that ongoing pressure can have over time. Since meeting Chet, I’ve wanted to support professionals to better understand stress, trauma and how to work with their nervous system in a way that supports their wellbeing and long-term health.
